Core Values and Strategic Goals

To achieve our institutional objectives, we commit ourselves to be guided by the core values and fundamental principles in our daily activities and institutional culture grounded on honesty, integrity, tolerance, discipline and ethical foundation. The following core values and principles which are articulated partly in our mission and vision statements create the foundation of our group and reflect our strategic goals:

  • Integrity and honesty: We strive to render the legal service with utmost honesty and integrity. We are therefore committed to act objectively, professionally and with integrity.
  • Respect and communication: We believe that every human being has the right to be treated with respect, fairness and dignity irrespective of his or her station in life. We abhor any forms of communication that is intended to demean colleagues, staff, clients and stakeholders.
  • Effective and high quality service: We commit ourselves to deliver highly skilled, effective and innovative legal services to our clients. Our workplace will foster the ability to work effectively in a collegial environment. We are motivated by the desire to create institutional culture that embraces and strives for excellence, transparency and success.
  • Empowerment and professional development: The TG is dedicated to the development and empowerment of its members at all stages of their legal careers in a collegiate setting. We therefore seek to provide support and understanding to members in an inclusive environment. The Group will strive to represent, protect and assist members as regards the conditions of practice and safeguards their rights, privileges and interests.
    We believe that every member of TG is unique and talented in his or her own right. We therefore endeavour to provide members with the opportunities to develop their careers through information-sharing, mentorship and legal education. To achieve our aims, we will inculcate a culture of self-confidence and positive self-image in members and staff.
  • Transformation and change: We commit ourselves to act as catalyst for change in the legal profession and leading the way to social justice. We therefore believe in transformation of legal profession not only as buzz words but as being informed by the ideals of fairness, gender parity and equality. We therefore believe in genuine transformation of the legal profession by providing opportunities to our members within the legal profession and judiciary in general.
  • Diversity and collaboration: The Thabure group is committed to develop an organisation that reflects the diversity of its membership and legal profession in general; and encourages an inclusive environment that embraces collaboration. Therefore, we will strive to inspire collaboration and nurture diversity of cultural expression through mutual respect and tolerance.

We are committed to establish links and cooperate with other groups of POLSA and act in solidarity with the interested groups and our stakeholders towards common goals by exchanging information and experiences. We believe that all the stakeholders are equally important to fulfil our mission and collective goals.
